Passiflora Control in Helensville

A population of Passiflora (Bat Wing Passionfruit) was identified on a single property in Helensville and we were asked to come in and locate the full extent of the population and eradicate it.

This tenacious weed has required a number of visits to the site to control the main population and seedlings that have continued to come up.

Passiflora is a weed with a Total Control status, meaning that it must be removed if found anywhere in Auckland.  The vine is fast growing, and rapidly spreads across tree canopy, blocking light to native trees and out-competing other native vines.  If Passiflora was allowed to spread across Auckland it would have a devastating effect on our native forests.
