Biosecurity means the protection of natural and physical resources and human health throught the exclusion, eradication and effective management of pests and unwanted organisms. The TPS Biosecurity Team provides: - Consultation services on Biosecurity and Quarantine system management including; working with other biosecurity companies and government agencies to develop policy, practical operational systems that will meet the needs of particular policy, mainland island programmes, using either protective chemical fences or man made pest proof fences.
- Specialist advice in pest eradication and control as well as programme development and management for new pests.
- Pest control and maintenance programmes for re-vegetation sites, lifestyle blocks and farms.
- Specialist biosecurity advice on importing high value goods that could pose a biosecurity risk to New Zealand (e.g. specialised plant and machinery such as saw mills, heavy machinery, film or theatre props).
- Specialist advice in marine biosecurity.
Pre-border TPS has extensive knowledge of biosecurity in New Zealand and overseas and can develop a quality comprehensive package to suit the needs of our clients. Post-border TPS can quickly and efficiently respond to a new incursion with the following skills: - Project management of a recent arrival or new pest problem.
- Operational management of control operations.
- Delimitation surveys.
Pest Monitoring - Modified McLean Scale or specific, customised methodologies and statistical models that will meet your monitoring requirements.
